Last night, Mirjam de Bruijn spoke about the Internet blackout in Anglophone Cameroon in Bureau Buitenland (VPRO, in Dutch).

Following increasingly violent protests and strike actions against the perceived marginalization of English and the English-speaking regions Northwest and Southwest, authorities ordered the country’s telecommunication providers to shut off Internet connections. It has been almost two weeks, and the silence from the Anglophone regions is worrying.
